I get it! it's month two into the New Year and your goals have lost their cache, you're winding down and, lets be honest, getting a little loosey-goosey with your nutrition and fitness. DONT LET THE SLUMP GET YOU! Remember what your goals are and think about why you made them in the first place.
For me fitness is about more than my appearance; I have a family history of obesity and thyroid problems as a result. I knew I didn't want that in my life, I didn't want to struggle with my body and let food rule me. It's important to me to set the tone for my daughter and inspire my husband (to hit the gym once in a while!).
Here's a few tips to stay on track:
- Drink you water! Try to get in a bottle of water before anything when you first wake up, yes even before your coffee.
- Accountability! Join a group, grab a friend, join a community, tell others about your goal. It's harder to give up when you have people counting on your success.
- Don't downplay the non-scale victories! Health and fitness are about so much more than the scale. Take pictures and measurements so you can SEE your progress.
